Dogs always have accidents when you are unexpected. As the owner, you know how to deal with these emergencies, but it is related to your dog's life. In case of emergency, first of all, don't panic, calm down and contact the local veterinarian as soon as possible. Let's take a look at the daily first aid knowledge about dogs.
If your dog encounters any of the following
1. Bleeding
Confirm the location of the bleeding wound, and quickly take a clean cloth to press the site of the wound to stop bleeding. If the wound is contaminated, rinse the wound with warm salt water first, and then bandage the wound with clean cloth. Dogs with severe bleeding should be sent to animal hospital for emergency treatment immediately after emergency dressing.
2. Epilepsy
When the dog has convulsions or convulsions, first of all, do not touch the dog's body, and in the first time, quickly move the objects around it, so as to avoid the dog bumping into other things in the process of cramping. Keep the room quiet and dark. Turn off the lights, pull the curtains, turn off the TV or radio, and keep children and other pets away. The onset time and duration of epilepsy were recorded. If the seizure lasts more than 4 minutes, contact the local veterinarian and send to hospital as soon as possible.
3. Respiratory arrest
Check the mouth for food and other obstructions, clean the trachea, keep the mouth closed and neck extended, point your mouth at the dog's nose, and then blow air into his nostrils until you see his chest undulating. Repeat every 5 seconds until the dog returns to spontaneous breathing or a veterinarian has arrived.
4. Coma
Let the dog lie flat, straighten the body, then open the dog's mouth and pull out the tongue to keep the trachea unblocked, and then send the dog to the hospital for treatment immediately; pay attention to the dog's heartbeat and breathing and pay attention to whether the dog's consciousness recovers, and be careful not to let it bite his tongue.
5. Heatstroke
Go out in hot weather, or stay in a place with poor ventilation (such as staying in a car is very, very dangerous! Never put the dog in the car, not for a while! )Dogs are prone to heatstroke. When the dog has heatstroke, immediately send it to a cool place (turn on the air conditioner), drench his body with tepid water to cool down, and let him drink water to replenish water.
6. Traffic accident
When a dog is hit by a car, don't panic and don't apply medicine to it. Wrap it with a blanket, keep it warm, keep its mouth and nose exposed, and take it to the nearest animal hospital. If the dog is likely to have a fracture, keep it as still as possible, place it on a hard board, such as a board covered with a blanket, and contact your local veterinarian immediately.
7. Bite
It is not uncommon for dogs to fight and bite. If you need to "dissuade", you can try to water them. Don't try to prevent yourself from getting hurt. If your dog is bitten, wrap it with a blanket to keep it calm and warm. Pay attention to the exposed mouth and nose. If it's a puppy, put it in a wash basket or box with a blanket or towel. If it's a big dog, put it on a big blanket for easy lifting. Sometimes, although the dog is not obviously injured on the surface, it may actually feel very painful, so try not to touch it when it is unnecessary.
