The digestion ability of Hydrangea is very strong, the digestion process is rapid, the food can be digested in two hours and discharged from the body. Therefore, feed and drinking water must not be interrupted. In addition, although Hydrangea is insectivorous birds, but honey and fruit have a special hobby, also need to add timely.
a) Powder feeding:
The staple food of China's caged Hydrangea (Japan also uses egg yolk millet to feed Hydrangea) is cooked powder, such as mung bean powder, soybean powder mixed with egg yolk. The ratio of soybean flour to egg yolk is generally 7:3. But it can be adjusted according to different growth stages of birds. For example, the yolk ratio can be reduced to 5:2 or 3:1 during molting. When the new feather began to grow, the ratio of egg yolk was increased to 2:1 or 3:2. It can promote the growth of feathers. Feeding powder should be supplemented with a certain amount of non-staple food, such as adding 10% of the total intake of insects (such as bread worms, skin worms, crickets, grasshoppers) and other animal protein feed (fork feeding on bamboo sticks) to meet the growth and development needs of hydrangea.
Note: feed insects must be healthy, do not use insects that "have eaten plants with pesticide residues" to prevent bird food poisoning. In addition, it is better to cook the skin worms before feeding them (if the worms are fed raw, the liquid inside the insects will flow to the lower part of the cage, and the birds will peck at the bottom of the cage. Breadfruit can choose white directly feed, not too much, twice a day, a time 1-2 is enough. Powder production: from the market to buy ready-made soybean powder, and raw egg yolk in proportion to stir evenly, put into the microwave oven fire for 2, 5-3 minutes, take out in the middle to stir. When you smell the smell of soybean powder, it will be ready. If you don't have a microwave oven, you can steam it on the stove and dry it in the sun. If I put the coke in the refrigerator for about 20 days, it must be dry. If the powder and container are dry, there is no need to worry about the mildew and deterioration of the feed. Conditional bird friends can add some things to the powder, such as milk powder, crushed 21 vitamins, bone meal, a small amount of salt and so on. I added Amway's protein powder. The powder can be fed dry or mixed into paste with water.
b) The feeding of green feed was as follows
This kind of feed is essential for any bird. Many fruits (such as banana, apple, watermelon, cucumber, water chestnut, etc.) can be used to feed embroidered eyes. Feeding should be kept fresh, usually fork it on the bamboo stick, let the birds peck by themselves. Note: don't feed watermelons more in summer. The feces after eating watermelons with embroidered eyes are red and thin, which flow to the edge of the cage and seep into the bamboo, which can't be washed out; it's dirty and stinky when it comes to the ground. c) Feeding of honey:
Honey has the functions of clearing away heat, detoxifying, moistening the lung and ventilating. It is also an indispensable source of nutrition in the breeding of hydrangea. But the honey bought in the market is too thick, it should be diluted with 20% - 30% water and fed with hydrangea. Note: the amount of honey to be appropriate, not honey instead of food. The daily feeding amount of each bird should be no more than 1G.
2. Drinking water
The principle of water intake is clean and clean. Generally, cold boiled water is good, and tap water can be placed for several hours. Now the general water discharge East and East are small perforated glass bottles or plastic water cans. It should be noted that there must be no water leakage. If you don't drink water for a few hours, the hydrangea will hang up slowly, and the immortal daruo can't save it.
3. Water bath
Embroidered eye birds are very fond of cleaning. They like water abundance and even when the temperature is very low, they can also flutter their wings and enter the water bath. When they put them in the bath cage, place the cage in a shallow basin with water, and the height is just up to the feather of the bird's lower abdomen. I can also place a small shallow container in the bath cage, so that I can make it more water. I put the base of plastic flowerpot in the bath cage, and when filled with water, I just reach the lower abdomen of the bird. May October is usually a day and a margin, and other times depends on the temperature. Late autumn and early spring are usually 2-4 days. Winter is 3-5 days. Note: in spring and winter, it is better to make water in the direct sunlight or warm indoor in the afternoon. 4. Sunbathing
Sunbathing is good for birds. As long as the weather is fine in captivity, the birds should be given plenty of sunlight every day. I will focus on the precautions for sunbathing when raising birds on the balcony.
Pay attention to cold protection in spring. Conditional bird friends should put the birds on the balcony a little farther away from the aluminum alloy doors and windows. Close the windows when people go away, but don't pull the curtains.
Be careful not to get in the sun directly in summer. My principle is that when people are at home, sun at 7 o'clock in the morning for about 10 minutes (not directly). When people are not at home, they don't take the birds outdoors (the summer heat in Hangzhou is 38-40 degrees, so people can't eat them, let alone birds).
Pay attention to the afternoon sun in autumn, especially hot, so if you go out in the morning and don't come back at noon, you'd better put the birdcage in a place where it's not too sunny. Don't put the cage outside or on the balcony without aluminum alloy windows like in summer (the temperature is lower at night). My embroidered eyes were hung in my bedroom after dinner in the evening. Now it won't wake up until 6:30 (ha ha, don't listen to annoying calls). In the past, my embroidered eyes were placed on the balcony. I started to yell at each other before 5 o'clock in the morning. I didn't want to keep them. 5. Bird walking
Because the size of the embroidered eye cage is generally very small, the bird's range of activity is too small, and the amount of exercise is insufficient. We can walk the bird to increase the activity ability of the bird, maintain its balance in the wild, at the same time, prevent the bird's obesity, promote blood circulation, and improve the bird's physique. 6. Claw repair
Repair is required when the claw is more than 2 / 3 of the toe length or the claw is bent backward. When repairing the claw, the external end of the internal blood vessel in the claw is 1-2 mm, and then use a file to gently file down a few times. (in fact, the method is the same as when dealing with hibiscus, that is, pay attention not to cut the blood vessels).
7. Feather finishing
The broken feather can be pulled out artificially to promote the formation of new feather. Use your thumb and index finger to press the root of the feather to be removed and pull it out along the growth direction of the feather. Do not swing it from side to side. Don't pluck too many feathers at one time, and then pluck them every 2-3 days. Don't give it a bath immediately after plucking feathers to avoid inflammation.
8. Clean toes and feathers
Due to illness or other reasons, bird toes or feathers are not clean, it is difficult to clean by water bath, so manual cleaning method can be used. When cleaning, the left hand holds the bird and immerses the part to be cleaned in warm water, and the right hand gently wipes out with a wet cloth or cotton.
9. Cleaning cage
The amount of food and defecation of embroidered eyes are relatively large, need to clean the bottom plate, food cans, water tanks every day. Clean the birdcage, stick and cloth every few days. The bird cage can be disinfected with 0,1% Bromogeramine.
10. Prevention of cat and mouse invasion
Because of its small size and weak self-protection ability, it is necessary to prevent the invasion of cats and mice, or the losses caused will be irreparable.
11. Observation outside the cage
In the breeding process of Hydrangea, observation is a very important link. Especially those who have just raised embroidered eyes should be diligent in observation. Unlike other birds, Xiuyan will cause huge losses after a few hours of water and food deprivation. For example, whether the water tank leaks, how much feed there is in the food tank, and whether the bird cage is broken (especially the bamboo cage).
Special attention should be paid to the state of sick birds, which generally have the following performance: not active, often stay in the cage corner, sink edge, drowsiness, weariness of bathing, loss of appetite, loose and dirty feathers, drooping wings, mucus around the anus, delayed feather changing, unable to shake and dehydrate in time when the feathers are wet.
